

Jane was preceded in death by her parents, Beatrice and Clyde Chezem; her sister, Betty Wilkinson; her husband, Thomas W. “Pinky” George; and her daughter, Gail Kristinik.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Wesley and Sandi George of Elgin Texas; and her sister and brother-in-law, Madolyn and Roy Mills of Palacious Texas. Jane “Granny” is also survived by three grandchildren: Erin Lohner, Sarah Brown, and Shelley Murphree, plus five great-grandchildren: Elin Lohner, Emily Lohner, Johnathan Brown, Shelby Brown, and Brooklyn Murphree.
After her husband graduated from U.T., they began their life journey in Austin. Jane was a loving, kind, and patient homemaker and a very talented seamstress. Later she began a career as an Administrative Assistant for the University of Texas Astronomy Department. Jane was able to travel and continue her passion of sewing after her retirement from U.T. Her last few years were memorable as she met new friends and enjoyed life in a retirement community in Round Rock Texas.
A memorial service to honor Jane Claire George will be held at 3:30 p.m., Saturday, July 12, 2014 at Cook-Walden Capital Parks in Pflugerville, Texas.
