Mrs Jo Ann Reeves

Jo Ann Moran Reeves of Austin, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 14, 2010. She was born in Austin on October 26, 1936, to S.A. (Bill) Moran and Jane Moran. Jo Ann was confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church on February 26, 1967, and was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church for 27 years.

She was employed by the City of Austin for 23 years, retiring from the Emergency Medical Services. Following her retirement, Jo Ann was an active volunteer for St. David’s Hospital, Meals on Wheels, Our Savior Lutheran School, and Bethesda Resale.

Jo Ann is preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Kenneth Reeves. She is survived by her three children, Beth Dishman, Kelly Reeves Boyd, and David Reeves; son-in-law, Drew Boyd; grandchildren, Zack Grisham and wife Lindsey, Holly Gibbs, Joshua Godines, Joel Godines, and Kelsey Godines; great-grandchildren, Taylor, Jonah, Kinley, and Lacy. She is also survived by two sisters, Billie Wasdin and husband Lamar, Jeanie Estepp and husband Calvin, and one brother, Kenneth Moran and wife Carolyn, along with several nieces and nephews.

Jo Ann was known as Mimi to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, with whom she enjoyed an annual week-long trip to Padre Island. She enjoyed extensive travel with her husband, was an avid reader, and enjoyed playing bingo with her Aunt Rose.

The family will receive friends from 6:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, December 16, 2010 at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home, Pflugerville. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, December 17, 2010 in the Memorial Chapel of Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Our Savior Lutheran School Library.
