Joe Robert Drake
Joe Robert Drake, age 54, passed away Sunday, August 27, 2023 at his home in Pflugerville with his loving wife Jennifer by his side.
Joe was born in Temple, TX to Darrell and Charlotte Drake. He was a graduate of Texas A&M University. He had a successful landscaping business and later became the owner of Texas Bar and Grill. Joe also had a long history of philanthropy doing volunteer work as a paramedic; hosting many fundraising events at his bar; as well as giving to several charities over the years; St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital being at the top of his list.
Joe enjoyed holidays with his family, especially Thanksgiving. He loved attending events at the bar with his customers and staff, whether it was playing darts, poker, or watching the Dallas Cowboys. He also enjoyed fishing, gambling trips, and the outdoors, particularly the wilds of Alaska.
Joe battled cancer for over five years. He never gave up and never stopped fighting. His fight and will to live outweighed all doctors’ and cancer centers’ prognoses, allowing him to survive on this earth longer. He was determined to prove doctors wrong. But that was Joe’s larger than life personality. He never met a stranger and held a special place in his heart for everyone.
He is survived by his wife Jennifer Drake; son Cody Drake and fiance Yulia Berray; son Cody Sivek; daughter Tiffany Keszler; four-legged fur baby Gracie Drake; Mother in-law JoAnn Sivek; in-laws Carrie and Mark Lemke and family; in-laws Rusty and Cynthia Sivek; bonus daughter Ashlie Faught and Fiance Taylor Hutchens; many extended and close family members; as well as several grand pups.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, September 5th, 2023 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Cook Walden Capital Parks Funeral Home and Cemeteries, 14501 N IH 35, Pflugerville TX 78660. The service will be held Wednesday, September 6th, 2023 at 10:00 am, followed by graveside service.
