Steve was born on November 28, 1953, at Austin Brackenridge Hospital and passed away on March 4, 2025. He was an Austinite all his life.
Steve grew up in Barton Hills and attended Zilker Elementary, Porter Middle School, and graduated from Crockett High School. He attended Texas Tech University, receiving a bachelor's degree in communications.
For 15 years, Steve owned and operated his own advertising business.
He was always an outgoing, optimistic, happy, and big-hearted person. He was forever a sports enthusiast. Always the happy one, his last text said, "if this is the end, it has been fun, fun, fun." So typical of our precious Steve.
Steve is survived by his mother, Doris Schroeder of Austin; his brother Gene (Lou Ann) of Tucson; and two nephews Jason (Nikki) and Brian (Sheryl.) He is also survived by his much beloved feline companion Jaxon, many friends, and ex-wife Gina.
A graveside service for John will be held Wednesday, March 12, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home & Cemetery, 14501 N Interstate Hwy 35, Pflugerville, TX 78660.
