John Le

We are sad to announce the passing of John Le, 28, of Cedar Park, TX, who passed away on May 20, 2023 in Walnut Creek, CA.

John was born on June 3, 1994 to Nghi Le and Bich Le in San Jose, CA as the oldest child of two. After John graduated from Cedar Park High School in 2012, he went on to study Fine Arts at Texas State University, San Marcos.

In December of 2020, he moved to Oakland, CA to pursue his dreams of being an artist. He lived with his cousins, Jane and Trang, and then with his aunt and uncle, Ha and Minh, until he moved to his own apartment in March 2023.

John had a childlike wonder and unstoppable creativity that moved anyone who got the pleasure and privilege to know him. He was in multiple bands, made art constantly, and was known and loved within the art and music communities of San Marcos and Austin. He played bass, drums, sometimes keys and vocals.

John had friends all over the country so he got to travel and have spontaneous adventures with his friends. He liked to drive and listen to some of his favorite musicians like Beach House, Mazzy Star, Zach Hill, Death Grips, Iceage, Yoko Ono, Bob Dylan, Patsy Cline. He had excellent taste and an eccentric, incredible sense of humor, as well as a unique wittiness that is so hard to come by.

He was a kind hearted and beautiful soul that left us too early. He will be missed by so many. His spirit will always bring love, joy and inspiration to everyone who has ever known him.

John is survived by his parents, Nghi Le and Bich Le, and his younger sister, Trisha Le.
