

After graduating from Dexter City High School, he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and completed his basic training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio. He proudly served his country for 20 years including a tour in Korea and Vietnam. He retired in March, 1972 achieving the rank of M/Sgt. After the Air Force, John went to work for the Internal Revenue Service, retiring a second time in July, 1994.
John is survived by his wife of 59 years, Sandra Lee Garber Waller; his son John Edward Waller, II of Austin; daughter Julia Waller Whited and her husband Thomas of Houston; his grandchildren Elizabeth, Matthew and Catherine Whited; his sisters Joanne Hanson of Beverly, Ohio, Joyce Gessel of Wooster, Ohio and Janette Waller of Bellflower, California.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Walnut Creek Baptist Church, PO Box 81492, Austin, Texas 78708-1492 or Disabled Veteran’s.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, October 31, 2013 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Cook-Walden Capital Parks in Pflugerville. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, November 1, 2013 at 1:00 pm at Walnut Creek Baptist Church. Entombment will follow at 3:30 pm at the Mausoleum of Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Cemetery.
