

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Jorge Luis Rivera, who departed from this world on February 25, 2024. Born on February 21, 1959, Jorge lived a life marked by dedication, love, and unwavering strength.
Jorge's journey began in Puerto Rico, where he was raised by his loving parents, Modesto Torres Rivera and Fransica Diaz Rodriguez. After graduating from high school, he answered the call to serve his country, joining the Army where he served in the Infantry and 1st Class Armored Division, demonstrating his commitment to duty and honor.
Following his military service, Jorge embarked on a successful career as a maintenance supervisor for various apartment complexes. His last and cherished employment was with Hollybrook Apartments, where he formed enduring bonds with colleagues like Estella Wash, Sylvie McCutcheon, and Carolyn Brooks along with many other beloved coworkers. Jorge's work ethic was unmatched, always going above and beyond to provide for his family and ensuring the places he managed were well-maintained and welcoming.
Outside of the professional sphere, Jorge found joy in various pursuits. His hobbies included fishing, dancing salsa, practicing karate, and watching football with his family. Jorge's zest for life and diverse interests endeared him to those around him, creating lasting memories filled with laughter and camaraderie.
What truly set Jorge apart was his unparalleled work ethic and his ability to inspire those around him to strive for excellence. He was a pillar of strength for his family, always going above and beyond to provide for them. His impact extended far beyond his immediate circle, as he touched the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing him. Jorge taught us the values of independence, strength, and compassion, leaving an enduring legacy that will continue to shape the lives of those he loved.
Jorge is preceded in death by his father, Modesto Torres Rivera, mother, Francisca Diaz Rodriguez, and his son, Issac Castro Vasquez. He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Isabel Rivera, his brothers Norbert Rivera and Armando Rivera, sister Isa Rivera, children Gilbert Vasquez, Monica Beltran, and Ramiro Rivera, and his grandchildren Vannessa Gonzales, Joey Beltran III, Tiana Beltran, Liana Beltran, Rayana Beltran, and Baby Duran.
Jorge's love extended across oceans to his family in Puerto Rico, where he cherished phone calls with Lisbeth Concepción, LizMarie Carrillo and her son Marcos Gabriel, and Luis Armando Rivera, along with his many nephews, nieces, and cousins.
Though Jorge is no longer with us, his memory will forever be cherished in the hearts of his family, friends, and all who were touched by his warmth, kindness, and generosity.
