She is survived by her favorite son, Jon Eric Browning (and wife Shawn), and her favorite daughter, Jana Browning; and is also survived by two of her sisters, Mildred Toungate and Nelda Dannheim. She is predeceased by her sister Janelle Toungate and brother Terry Toungate.
Joy was retired after a career with the VA, and enjoyed web surfing, craft projects, and most of all, spending time with her trusty four-legged companions Charlie, Allen, Peter Panther, and Sassy. She loved being able to provide a good home to animals in need, and would, in her words, “have them all” if she could! For this reason, the family would like to request that in lieu of flowers, a donation be made to a pet shelter or pet rescue organization of your choice. She’d be thrilled to know that she helped more friends than just the ones living with her.
We are grateful for her time with us, and will miss her deeply – the wit, the laughter, the companionship, and not least, the use of curse words reserved solely for certain politicians, department stores’ Petites sections, and of course, vegetables.
A memorial service for Joy will be held Saturday, April 6, 2024 at 11 AM at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home, 14501 North Interstate 35, Pflugerville, Texas 78660.
