Joyce Evangeline Vernell Swenson Greinert, age 93, went to be with her Lord and Savior June 12, 2021. She was born December 29, 1927 in Austin, Texas to Arthur A. and Florence Victoria (Munson) Swenson.

Joyce was a rancher, farmer and artist. She was a true “Texas Cowgirl”. Joyce could plow a field, run a trotline and shoot a coyote. She was tough, witty, and intelligent and could play a mean game of Spades. Joyce never complained and she always had a smile that radiated deep from her soul. She never met a stranger. She would hum a beautiful tune while she cooked and worked. She enjoyed fishing (especially catfish), harvesting, bowling, gardening, baking and traveling. Joyce was a wonderful seamstress and always made sure her children had beautiful clothing. Her greatest enjoyment came from spending time with her family and friends.

Joyce was a devoted follower of Christ Jesus, her Lord and Savior. Through her faith, she stayed strong and joyful. She and her husband Ruben helped build many churches around the world and always loved meeting and sharing with new people. She was a great encourager and touched the lives of many people throughout the years.

Joyce was preceded in death by her loving husband of 71 years, Ruben Greinert and her parents, Arthur and Florence Swenson. Those left to cherish her memory include her five children, Pamela Ann Shaw, Neil Douglas Greinert, Sr. and his wife Linda, Deborah Gayle Figueroa and her husband Joaquin, Keith Eugene Greinert and his wife Laurie and Robin Joyce McCalla and her husband Clay; eleven grandchildren, Nova, Jason, Regina, Neil Jr., Christina, Stephanie, Ashley, Nicholas, Brianna, Tristen and Shelsea; eleven great grandchildren; sister, Gayle Anderson; and a host of other relatives and friends.

A private family graveside service will be held at Cook-Walden/Memorial Hill Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 19, 2021 at Cook-Walden Davis Funeral Home, 2900 Williams Drive, Georgetown, Texas 78628. Immediately following the memorial service, a reception will be held at the Vizcaya Clubhouse, 5000 Pietra Ln, Round Rock, Texas 78665.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Joyce’s memory can be made to Wounded Warrior Project (www.woundedwarriorproject.org).

I want to share this beautiful picture my mom painted for me so many years ago. She was a very talented artist and this beautiful church she painted shows the love that flowed through her. Thank you Mom for all your love and sweetness. I love you always ❤️ Pam
