Juanita A. Ragland

Neta was born in London, Texas to Clarence Andrews and Leona Doe on January 8, 1933. She graduated from Austin High School in 1951. This is where she met her life-long best friend Jodi. They remained friends for over 70 years. In 1949 a mutual friend introduced her to the love of her life Emmett Ragland and they were married in 1951. They were married for 64 years and had four children together. Neta and Emmett enjoyed spending time together whether it was at home, family vacations, spending time at the lake house, and his favorite place the farm.

Throughout her life she accomplished many things. Along the way she touched many people’s lives. Her family always came first. She worked hard in being the best housewife and managing the day to day activities of her children and husband. She was a volunteer room mother for her children and grandchildren. She loved to bake birthday cakes and holiday treats for her family and friends. She also enjoyed sewing for her children and grandchildren One of her favorite things to do was to watch her daytime soaps. She enjoyed her visits with family during her final days. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother-Nenaw, great-grandmother-Nana, and friend. She will be remembered for her compassion for others and for her unconditional love she gave to all.

Neta is preceded in death by her husband Emmett Ragland, her parents Clarence and Leona, brother Jerry, grandson Trey, and her best friend Jodi.

She is survived by her children-James Ragland, Fran Theiss, Debbie Norman, and David Ragland. Her grandchildren-Heather, Nicole, Amber, Ashley, Suzanne, Kimberly, Brian, Justin, and Colten. Her great grandchildren-Paige, Dylan, Hanna, Finley, Aubree, Brayden, Aeden, Riley, Kaydence, Hagen, Archer, Zander, and Evelyn.

A graveside service for Neta will be held Thursday, June 23, 2022, 10:00 a.m. at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Cemetery, 14501 North Interstate 35, Pflugerville, TX 78660.

The family would like to thank Accentcare personal care, New Century Hospice, and Falcon Ridge nursing home for their compassionate care.
