

Kathy was born on December 17, 1950. She was born and raised in Albertville, Alabama. She graduated from Albertville High School and then went on to a career as a dedicated and successful office manager in banking and human resources. She married her husband of thirty years, John Black, in The Woodlands, Texas. They later made their home in Round Rock, Texas, where they were surrounded by family, friends and their church family for fourteen years. Kathy was a loving wife, a faithful servant of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and a caring family member and friend. She gave hope and encouragement to many through her volunteer service with Regarding Cancer. She loved traveling, quilting, painting, reading, and decorating her home.
She is survived by her husband, John Black, her step-son, Jason Black and his wife Mandy, her step-daughter, Mandy Hester and her husband John, her four grandchildren Owen Black, Sam Black, Riley Hester and Grant Hester, her sister-in-law, Sherryl Sellers, her brother-in-law, Tony Black and his wife Kathy, her sisters, Carolyn Savage and Peggy Wilkinson and her husband Charles, her nephews Steve Sellers, Bryant Black, his wife Lauren and their son Joaquin, Eric Wilkinson and his wife Mirella, and her niece Kristen Mitchell, her husband Chris, and their children Mackay and Claire.
A memorial service will be held to celebrate her life on October 1, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at Grace Covenant Church in Austin, Texas. Donations in memory of Kathy can be made to Grace Covenant Church.
