

Kenton William Pfluger, age 65, passed away at home on January 1, 2024. Kent was a lifelong resident of Travis County. He grew up in Austin, and graduated from Lanier High School. He worked for most of his career as an independent electrician, specializing in commercial wiring of small businesses and medical offices. Kent retired from his independent business in 2009. Kent then continued working as a master electrician on large structures in Austin, including the JW Marriott and the Austin Public Library. He was most recently using his expertise around campus at UT Austin.
Kent was an outdoorsman who grew up fishing for white bass on Lake Buchanan and fishing in the deep blue waters on the Texas Coast. One of his favorite pastimes was hunting; including hunting dove, quail, deer and feral hogs. Kent’s most loved vacation destinations were Port Aransas and Rockport, Texas.
Kent was also a loyal fan of the Texas Longhorns and followed all of the teams closely.
Kent was preceded in death by his father, Vernon Pfluger. Kent leaves behind his son, daughter, their spouses, his grandchildren, his mother, brother, sister, and brother-in-law. Survivors include his son, Jacob Pfluger, and wife, Ann Pfluger; daughter, Jamie Pfluger Greenway and husband Ben Greenway; brother, Bryant Pfluger; and sister and brother-in-law, Marcy and Thom McNeil. Kent is survived by grandchildren; Jaxson, Lawson, and Pierson Pfluger and Luciana, Arabella, Bentley and Jensen Greenway. Kent is also survived by his two nephews; Mike McNeil and Sam Pfluger and their families. As well as his 93-year-old mother, Nathzele Pfluger.
