Kimberly Ruth Dixon left this earth and went to be with her Jesus in heaven on June 7, 2016. Kimberly was born in Georgetown on April 29, 1985 and lived with her parents, Jim and Marilyn Dixon in Round Rock, TX. Kimberly had epilepsy and nonverbal autism, but communicated via typing. She enjoyed writing poetry, painting, riding horses, gardening, and starting conversations about intriguing topics like dreams and religion. Recently, Kimberly published a book of her poetry and art called Under the Silence is Me—How it Feels to be Nonverbal. Kimberly’s art and poetry have been exhibited in numerous art shows, including one that is currently on display at the University of North Texas campus in downtown Dallas.
Kimberly is survived by her parents, Jim and Marilyn Dixon and four brothers, Brandon Dixon, Jeremy Dixon, Andrew Dixon, and Michael Dixon and her grandmother Patsy Williams. Kimberly also has three loving sisters-in-law and four nieces and nephews and one on the way.
There will be a memorial service held for Kimberly at Hill Country Bible Church at 10:00 am on Friday, June 10 where family and friends will rejoice in Kim’s life and her God.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations going to Brookwood in Georgetown, Hill Country Bible Church Special Needs ministry, Ride on Center for Kids, Joni and Friends. www.joniandfriends.org, and/or The Autism Trust.
