She was born in Flint, Michigan on October 17, 1958, the daughter of Dorothy and Ernie Jones. Laura was the 4th of 8 children. She graduated in 1976 from Monroe High School, Monroe, Michigan.
For most of her adult life she worked in the mental health field, splitting her time between Monroe, Michigan and Austin, Texas. She had many dear friends and family in both states. Laurie's generous and sweet natured spirit made it easy to love her. Her devotion and love of family was immense and she will be missed beyond measure. Laurie's wish was to be near her son and his family. Joey was able to help her make that dream come true and we are all grateful.
Her faith in God brought her much comfort in knowing she would be reunited with loved ones in heaven.
Laurie is survived by her son Joseph L. Buckler; daughter-in-law, Amanda; three grandchildren, Bailey, Jazmine and Joseph Buckler; three sisters, Jenny (Jonathan) Stupka of Lakeway, TX, Mary (Brian) Wilson of Winter Garden, FL, and Cassandra (Ronald) Sutto of Hastings, MI and two brothers, Stephen (Jaynie) Buckingham of Bastrop, TX and Ernie (Tia) Jones of West Branch, MI.
Laurie is preceded in death by her father, Ernie Jones, mother, Dorothy Buckingham, and three brothers, James and Michael Jones and Stewart Buckingham.
In lieu of flowers, please "pay it forward" in memory of her generous spirit.
We invite you to her Celebration of Life on Saturday, January 28, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home in Pflugerville.
