Laura fought long and hard, never willing to give up, so we will not call it a loss. Our Heavenly Father called the fight and brought Laura home to her place in heaven. In the moment of that homecoming, Laura, not the cancer, has received the victory. She is no longer weary from the struggle, but rather once again whole and strong.
Laura's strength, loyalty and grace were but a few of the qualities that made her the beautiful wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, friend and woman we loved so much. Her life had purpose and meant something special - and it will continue to be present and meaningful to all of those that loved her.
Laura leaves her beloved husband Manuel; devoted son Bryan; loving daughter Amanda and loyal companion Bandit. Her adoring parents Tino and Lucy Hernandez; grandparents Josephina Hernandez and Juan Beltran. She also leaves a brother Mark and his wife Laurie Hernandez; sister Cynthia and her husband Luis Gonzales; and a twin sister Lisa and her husband Danny Zeman. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews. Additionally, Laura leaves her in-laws, aunts, uncles cousins and friends who all loved her.
Visitation with the family, followed by a Catholic Rosary, will be held at 6p.m. on Sunday, September 30, 2012 at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home in Pflugerville, Texas. A funeral service will take place at 10a.m. on October 1, 2012 at St. William Catholic Church in Round Rock, Texas.
