She had many occupations during her work life. Having graduated with an Associate’s Degree in Business, she became the owner of her own business, A1 Floral in Temple, for many years. Of all the organizations Laurella worked with, the American Legion Auxiliary was her true passion. So, for 12 years or more years, she worked for them full time as Texas State Secretary, building many lifelong friendships throughout that organization. In addition to being a member of the Auxiliary, she was also very active in American Business Women’s Association. She held offices in both organizations as high as the Presidency. She was also very proud of her heritage. As a Descendent of one of the Texas Signers of the Texas Declaration of Independence, Collin McKinney, she became a member of the “Daughters of the Republic of Texas”.
Her faith in the Lord was strong and she was a very active member of Pflugerville Hill Country Bible. She served as an usher every Sunday until she could no longer function in that capacity.
Her family and friends love and miss Laurella very much and are comforted to know that she will always be with us until the day when we are all reunited in the Kingdom of God.
