Louise Satterfield Reinhardt of Del Valle, Texas, passed away on Thursday, April 9, 2026, at the age of 77. She was born on October 1, 1948, in Williamson County, Texas, and grew up in Florence, Texas. Independent and capable, Louise had many interests and talents. In high school, she played basketball and volleyball and was a member of the pep squad, 4-H, and Future Homemakers of America, receiving the Betty Crocker Homemaker Award her senior year. Her love for journalism was ignited in high school where she was on the yearbook staff all four years and served as editor-in-chief her senior year.
Louise pursued her interest in journalism in college and graduated from Southwest Texas (now Texas State) University in 1971 with a degree in journalism and a teaching certificate.
For one year, Louise taught middle school Language Arts and Social Studies and was the yearbook sponsor in Killeen, Texas, before moving to Austin to marry the love of her life, Ralph. She was hired by The University of Texas System where she built a 35-year career in workers compensation before “retiring” in 2005 to serve as the secretary for her church, Cameron Road Church of Christ, where she worked until her passing.
Louise was an active member of Cameron Road Chuch of Christ for more than 50 years. She faithfully served in all areas of the church leading children’s Sunday school classes, going on numerous youth mission trips (New Mexico, Kansas, Arkansas, Louisiana and Arizona), making countless meals and visits to members who were sick or in the hospital, texting to check in on fellow members, keeping the building running...the list could go on.
Louise had a servant heart, always putting others first. She welcomed everyone with a smile and made them feel special and loved. She never met a stranger—being able to strike up a conversation in the grocery store line, with restaurant servers, store clerks, her daughters’ and grandchildren’s friends and family, etc.--taking a genuine interest in them and how they were doing. And she couldn’t have been happier than when she was taking care of her family. She was always the first to wake up to make sure her family started the day off well—whether to make breakfast, pack lunches or start the coffee even though she didn’t drink it—and the last to go to bed making sure everyone was comfortable with enough pillows and covers. She was deeply rooted in the people she loved.
Louise enjoyed traveling with family and friends. Annual trips to Port Aransas for beach time and good food with the grandkids, mother-daughter shopping trips to Waco and other Texas towns, visiting her grandchildren to watch them play sports, girls trips to Branson and Santa Fe, just to name a few.
Louise is preceded in death by her parents, Hollis and Vera Satterfield, and her infant grandson, Walter. She is survived by her husband, Ralph Reinhardt, and daughters: Stephanie Ashenfelter (Denny) and Lauren Dorsett (Sterling); granddaughter, Katelyn Ashenfelter; and grandsons, Ryan and Grayson Ashenfelter. She is also survived by her brother, Hollis Lee Satterfield and wife Sharon, and sister Donna Arldt, along with many beloved nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be held Thursday, April 23, at 10 a.m. with the memorial service immediately following at noon. Cook-Walden Capital Parks Funeral Home, 14501 N Interstate Hwy 35, Pflugerville, TX.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in her honor to Cameron Road Church of Christ, PO Box 147, Pflugerville, TX 78691
