

Lucy Dennison Myers was born in Norristown, Pennsylvania on March 13, 1950, and passed away to be with our Lord on Thursday, November 11, 2010, at age 60. Lucy is the daughter of the late Walter Rose and is survived by her mother, Myra Johnson Rose.
Lucy attended school in Collegeville, PA where she graduated from Collegeville-Trappe High School in 1968 where she was awarded the Perkiomem Business Women’s Association Award for Academic Excellence. She was a graduate of the Montgomery Hospital School of Nursing in 1975 where she received the Dr. Edgar S. Buyer’s Award for Academic Excellence, graduating first in her class.
On June 18, 1977, Lucy married Edward Dennis Myers at Lower Providence Presbyterian Church in Eagleville, PA. Her nursing career spanned over twenty years serving in many roles including Registered Nurse, Charge Nurse, Assistant Head Nurse, and Director of Nursing. She worked in multiple areas of hospital care including ER, OB/GYN, ICU/CCU, with a primary focus on post-surgical recovery and pain management. She was a compassionate and dedicated nurse always devoting the highest level of care possible to her patients.
After thirty-two years of marriage, her husband Edward preceded her in death on March 1, 2009. She is survived by her two daughters, Pamela Cortinas and her husband, Martin of Hutto, and Courtney Cross and her husband, James of Austin. Lucy also had one grandson, Colton Cortinas who always brightened her day with his daily antics. Lucy is survived by four sisters, five brothers, and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
During her life, she enjoyed spending time with her family, vacationing on the gulf coast, and playing with her grandson. Lucy brought joy to all those who had the pleasure of meeting her. She was a loyal, dedicated, and loving friend, wife, and mother who will be dearly missed.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M., Tuesday, November 16, 2010 with a Celebration of Life Service to follow at 7:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home.
