

Born and raised in Kenedy, Texas she grew up on a small farm in a four room house with her parents and two sisters.
Marie moved to Austin in 1945. She worked as a secretary at the Texas Employment Commission before continuing her career at the Attorney General's Office. She worked in several different departments there and was secretary to Attorney General John Hill during his administration. She retired from the state in 1984 with 38 years of state service. She then went to work at the law offices of Hughes & Luce until 1993.
She was a long time member of First English Lutheran Church. Her greatest pride was being a mother to her boys and ultimately her Crestview neighborhood. As anyone who sat in her kitchen knew, she never met a cookie she didn't like.
Marie was preceded in death by her parents, Carl & Winnie Blomquist, and her sister, Emma Jacobs.
She is survived by her sister, Ethel Thurman; her son & daughter in law Steve and Shelly Easley; grandchildren; Stephen & Stephany of Pflugerville; son Russell Easley of New York City; and son Greg Easley and his partner James Allan Bryant of Austin; She is also survived by her niece; Ingrid Simmons and nephews; Mark, Robert and Richard Ford.
A Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., on Tuesday March 1, 2011 at Cook-Walden Capital Parks Funeral Home, 14501 N. IH 35 Pflugerville, TX 78660.
The Funeral Service will be on Wednesday at 10:00 a.m., at the Memorial Chapel of Cook-Walden Capital Parks Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Cook-Walden Capital Parks Cemetery.
