

Marie Louise Sperduto Elbrecht went home to the arms of her Savior on September 24, 2012. She was preceded in death by her husband, The Rev. Dr. Paul G. Elbrecht, by her parents, James and Inga Sperduto, her daughter, Christin White, her brother James Sperduto, her sister, Kathryn Hire, and her son-in-law Cliff Hawthorne. She is survived by her children, Paula (Allan) Brinkmann, George (Greta) Elbrecht, Kathryn Hawthorne, Mark Elbrecht, Lynn (John) Davenport, Tim (Cindy) Elbrecht, and son-in-law Clark White, as well as 14 grandchildren: Jodi Toepke, Nicole Reeves, Lindsay Brinkmann, Aimee and Jordan Elbrecht, Christopher and Scott Elbrecht, Jenna Leer, Connor and Logan Davenport, Lauren and Morgan White, and Tyler and Carly Elbrecht. She had three great-grandchildren: Elias and Anya Toepke, and Reese Elbrecht.
Marie was born in Mobile, Alabama, on August 21, 1924. She graduated from Murphy High School and went to work as a secretary for the GM&O Railroad. She was married to the love of her life, Paul, on August 11, 1940. After Paul’s death in 1972, she returned to work for Diebold Bank Services and later Legend Home Builders. A highly skilled church organist, Marie was the first organist for Christ Lutheran Church in Lubbock, Texas, during the years her husband was the first pastor there.
A funeral service will be held Thursday September 27th at 1:30pm Redeemer Lutheran Church, Rev. Kevin Westergren officiating, followed by a graveside service at Cook-Walden Memorial Hill in Pflugerville. The family would like to thank all the staff at Park Place Assisted Living in Georgetown for the years of care given to Marie.
In lieu of flowers, the family would honor gifts in memory of Marie made to The Redeemer Lutheran Church Music Fund, 1500 W. Anderson Lane, Austin, Texas 78757.
