Marie Taffinder Walker Watkins

Marie Taffinder Walker Watkins, 96, of Round Rock, Texas, went to her Eternal Home, Thursday, April 10, 2014 after a lengthy illness. Marie was born on May 9, 1917 in Oglesby, Texas to Samuel Thomas and Ollie Fisher Taffinder.

Preceding her in death were her parents, her brother, S.T. Taffinder and her sister, Ethel Camp; also husbands, John Harvey Walker and Maynard Watkins; and sons-in-law, Ken Asbill and Joe Montgomery.

Marie is survived by her two daughters, Harlene Walker Priem and husband, Marion of Georgetown and Janice Walker Montgomery of Round Rock. She is also survived by grandsons, Larry Myers of Georgetown and John Berry of Los Angeles, California.; granddaughters, Sheryl Kowalczyk and husband, Todd of Pflugerville and Pam Morris and husband, Wayne of Austin; also step-grandchildren, Steven Asbill and wife Shelly; Mark Asbill and wife Lilly and Rae Ann Yusta and husband, John. Her great-grandchildren are Bradley Kowalczyk, Cara K. Addison and husband, Travis, Brandy Danielle Myers, and Steven and Michael Morris and one great-great-granddaughter, Jessica. Marie was a faithful member of the Wells Branch Church of Christ. A special thank you to the Legacy Hospice for their devoted care.

A visitation will be held on Monday, April 14, 2014 from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm at Cook-Walden/ Capital Parks Funeral Home in Pflugerville. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 15, 2014 at 10:00 am at the funeral home. Interment will be held at 1:00 pm, Tuesday, April 15, 2014 at Salado Cemetery in Salado, Texas.
