Marilyn was born March 7, 1944 in Wichita, KS to Charles Elmer Main, Jr. and Ellen Elizabeth Main.
Marilyn attended the University of North Texas and she was a legal secretary for James K. Presnal Law Firm for 8 years. She later became vice president of Austin Savings and Loan in the mid- 1980’s.
Marilyn loved art and had an extensive hobby room where she would paint and create her masterpieces. Marilyn loved sharing her life story through scrapbooks and even joined a scrapbooking club. She was a water color artist but she was always fascinated with the theater and entertainment.
Marilyn became a resident of Sun City Texas in January of 2001. She joined the Actors and Theater Arts Guild of Sun City Texas as the vice president and then later became president of the organization. She designed and painted sets for the Sun City Theater group.
She was the Vice chair of the Linda Day Performing Arts Foundation during 2011 and 2012.
She is survived by her son, John Michael Montgomery, a daughter, Ellen Elizabeth Hanrahan, two granddaughters, Zoey Rae Hanrahan and Marisa Elena Montgomery and six grandsons, Byron Zane Hanrahan, Jonatan Gochicoa Montgomery, Joseph Matthew Montgomery, Aaron Morales, Carlos Erique Rodriguez and Ryan John Montgomery.
Marilyn is preceded in death by her husband, Eddie Hooks, Sr., her parents, Charles Elmer Main, Jr. and Ellen Elizabeth Main and her two sisters, Ellen Susan Linscott and Kathleen Main Kearns.
A heartfelt thanks goes out to all the care givers, doctors, nurses and hospice that cared for our mother. You all had a special place in her heart and ours.
A Memorial Service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 17, 2019 at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home, 14501 North Interstate 35, Pflugerville, Texas 78660. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service at 2:00 p.m. at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home.
