

He was born on March 1, 1963 in Austin, Texas to Patricio Lopez Sr. and Julia Fonseca Lopez. Mario had been a lifelong resident of Austin, Texas. He loved sports and had played football for McCallum High School. He loved to have cookouts with friends and family. He enjoyed cooking, especially grilling brisket and ribs on his barrel pit for all to enjoy. You would often find him tending to his lawn and shrubs, as it was his form of relaxation. He was a loving son and served as the caregiver for his mother during the last years of her life.
Mario relocated to Yoakum, Texas five years ago to be with the love of his life, Sharon Bodie. They spent many fun weekends at concerts, attending festivals and visiting family.
He is preceded in death by his father, Patricio Lopez Sr.; mother, Julia Fonseca Lopez; brother, Raymond Gonzales Sr. and sister-in-law, Yolanda Gonzales.
Those left behind to cherish Mario’s memory are his wife, Sharon Bodie of Yoakum, Texas; brother, Patricio Lopez Jr. and wife Deborah of Spring Branch, Texas; brother, Robert Lopez of Austin, Texas; sister, Rose Ann Lopez of Austin, Texas; and many other extended family members and friends.
Family and friends are invited to a time of visitation on Tuesday, August 29, 2023 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home in Pflugerville. A funeral service celebrating Mario’s life will follow at 11:30 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Following the service, he will be laid to rest at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Cemetery.
