Marion Eleanor Fiero, age 96, went to be with her dance partner on February 3, 2011. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was born on October 14, 1914 in Grand Rapids Michigan to Albert and Florence Holmes. She married the love of her life, John M. Fiero, on January 15, 1933, in South Bend, Indiana.
Marion was preceded in death by her loving husband of 75 years John; two infant sons, Robert William (Bobby) and David Carl; a brother, Stuart Holmes; and a grandson, Rick Fiero.
She is survived by a sister, Helen Norvell of Pflugerville; three sons, Richard and his wife Carel of Victoria, Bill and his wife Mary Ann of Austin, David and his wife Sharon of Liberty Hill; nine grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; and a large, loving, very special extended family.
Marion was a long time member of Crestview Methodist Church where she enthusiastically served as pianist and organist with the music program for many years. She had a love of music and could play almost any song on the piano from memory if someone would sing along.
Marion was an avid fisherwoman all her life and in recent years had many memorable trout fishing trips to the coast catching as she called them “whoppers”.
The family will receive guests at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home on Sunday, February 6, 2011 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm. The funeral service will be conducted in the Memorial Chapel of Cook-Walden Capital Parks Funeral Home on Monday, February 7, 2011 at 1:00 pm. Interment will follow at Cook-Walden Capital Parks Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Crestview Methodist Church.
