

Martha attended Gulfport High School and left to marry the love of her life, Edward Lott, who she met in church. They married on November 25th, 1948, and had three daughters.
Martha was a stay-at-home mom until her husband surrendered to preach and began his college and Seminary years. While he was a student she worked as the receptionist and resident soloist at Reimanns Funeral Home in Gulfport, MS. Her husband pastored churches in Mississippi, Louisiana and Maryland before settling in Austin, TX in 1972. Her husband was associate pastor at Allandale Baptist and Great Hills Baptist where she was actively involved in the choir, Ladies Chorus and senior choir. She taught 5 yr olds Sunday school for over 50 yrs where she impacted many lives teaching them about Jesus. She enjoyed knitting, and in her later years made blankets for many new babies in our church family. While living in Austin, she worked as a receptionist for several doctors, for the Bee Hive Wholesale Craft Supply Company and the Texas Air Control Board where she retired.
She is preceded in death by her parents Edward and Grace James, her only brother, Gerald James and her husband Edward Lott
She is survived by her three daughters, Gale Hendricks (Doug) of Round Rock, TX., Cathy Summers (Kurt) of Georgetown, TX and Colleen Winegard (Cort) of Keota, IA., grandchildren, Shannon Stoppenhagen (Todd) of Austin, TX, Nathan Hendricks of Austin, TX, Mary Hendricks of Sloans Lake, CO., James Summers (Becca) of Lakeway, TX, Brandon Summers of Georgetown, TX, Michael Summers (Lauren) of Westlake, TX., Sarah Berg of Ollie, IA, Connor Wehr of Ames, IA., great grandchildren James Hendricks, Everett and Ryder Summers, Henry and Leroy Berg.
Family and friends are invited to attend a celebration of life service at Great Hills Baptist Church, 10500 Jollyville Rd, Austin, TX on Saturday, May 31st at 2:00pm. Visitation with the family will begin at 1:00 in the church sanctuary.
Interment to follow at Cook Walden Funeral Home, Pflugerville, TX.
