Mary Katherine (Hanks) Durham, a beloved wife, cherished sister, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, friend and all around beautiful hearted woman left us to go to our Heavenly Father on November 12, 2017 at the age of 83. Mary Kay was born and raised in Jackson, MS and graduated from the University of Texas in 1956, as an accomplished pianist. She married her first husband, Michael Seay, in 1956 and she traveled the U.S. and world as an Army spouse until returning to the Austin area in 1977. Mary Kay and Don opened and ran The Fixture Shop in Austin from 1990 until 2009, and then retired in Jarrell, TX. She was a member of St. Johns United Methodist Church in Georgetown, TX and enjoyed her weekly bible study meetings. Since retiring her past times included spending time with family & friends, reading, and traveling to small towns around Texas antiquing (as her girls would call it – “Burger-Tiquing” to find the town with the best hamburgers and antique stores).
