Mary W. O'Connor

Our beloved mother, Mary O’Connor, passed away on August 8, 2014. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her passion and joy was her family, and her legacy was one of kindness, positive attitude, and dedication to family. Her most important accomplishment was passing on to her children and grandchildren a love of God.

Mary was born in Addison, New York, the daughter of Keyes and Frances Whitmore. After her graduation from Addison High School, she attended Rider College in New Jersey. It was in Addison that Mary met and married John O’Connor. They were devoted to each other for 53 years until John’s death in 1999. She is also preceded in death by her son, Michael O’Connor.

Those left behind to cherish her memory are her children, Jim and wife Cindy O’Connor, Steve and wife Robbie O’Connor, Cynthia and husband Richard Eyster, Sue and husband Steve Wiehe, Joe and wife Leigh O’Connor, and Tim and wife June O’Connor; daughter-in-law, Darie O’Connor; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister, Esther Ingersoll of Addison, NY; and three nieces.

Visitation will be held from 6:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Monday, August 11, 2014 at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home in Pflugerville. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 12, 2014 at the funeral home chapel. She will be laid to rest at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Cemetery.

Honoring Mary as pallbearers will be her grandsons, Greg Eyster, Mark Eyster, Jeff O’Connor, Jack O’Connor, Scott O’Connor, Clay Wiehe, Kyle O’Connor, and Riley O’Connor.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society.
