Michael Lloyd Brewer passed away on August 26, 2019 in Austin, Texas at the age of 59. He is survived by his wife, Lisa Marie Brewer and sons, Flint Nelson Brewer and Robert Taylor Brewer and mother, Pat Nelson Allen all of Austin, Texas.
Michael was born in Austin on August 8, 1960 and grew up in Austin and Houston. He graduated from Lamar High School in Houston in 1978, and Southwest Texas State (now Texas State) in 1987 with a Bachelors in Business Administration. He began his career at Abbott Laboratories in 1982, and worked there for 37 years, as the company transitioned from Abbott to Hospira, Pfizer and finally ICU Medical.
He was a true sportsman, highly competitive, and enjoyed tennis, bowling, billiards, golf and baseball. He was a man of many hobbies including sailing, flying, and photography. He also strived to visit every ballpark in the US and collected tiny hats from each game. He also enjoyed attending Texas Longhorn football games with friends.
Michael made many wonderful friends, as well as meeting his wife Lisa. The two were always on the move, planning one vacation after another. During their time together, they visited almost every state between California to Florida, visiting ballparks, golf courses and historical sites along the way.
He loved attending his boys’ games from league play through high school. He always thought Flint was one of the most naturally talented baseball players he had ever seen, and Taylor could do no wrong as point guard in all his basketball games. He loved his animals and supported Austin Pets Alive!, a non-profit organization focused on pioneering innovative life saving programs designed to save the animals most at risk of euthanasia.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 3, 2019 in The Memorial Chapel of Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home in Pflugerville, Texas.
