

Michael Phillip Dalgliesh, age 79, of The Villages, Florida, and formerly of Austin, Texas, passed away on March 17, 2024 in Ocala, Florida. He was born on May 21, 1944 in Minneapolis, Minnesota to George Eugene and Mary Katherine (Harrison) Dalgliesh.
Michael served his country honorably in the United States Air Force from 1962-1966. He worked as a personal trainer, and had a passion for weight lifting and power lifting. He was proud to have been one of the top ten power lifters in the nation when he was younger. Because of that, he was always dedicated to his health and spending time in the gym.
He loved movies, particularly Westerns like “Gunsmoke”, which he enjoyed watching with his wife, Phyllis. He also loved music, especially rhythm and blues. He was a man of faith and a devout Catholic. He also loved traveling, the sun and the beach, his German Shepherd and kitties, dancing, and a good dive bar, where he could enjoy a Jack Daniel’s cocktail.
Those left behind to cherish his memory include his wife, Phyllis Dalgliesh; sons, Eric and Mark Dalgliesh; grandson, Jedi; siblings, Richard, Bruce and Mary; many nieces and nephews and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Mark; and his son, Derek Chaz.
Family and friends are invited to a visitation from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Monday, April 1, 2024 at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home in Pflugerville. The Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 2, 2024 at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Catholic Church, 1520 N. Railroad Ave., Pflugerville. He will be laid to rest with military honors at 2:15 pm on Tuesday, April 2, 2024 at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery, 1520 Harry Wurzbach Road, San Antonio.
