Michelle Beth Zavala

She attended school in Benbrook, Texas and graduated from Weatherford High School. A Texas Tech graduate, she was a member of Kappa Delta Sorority.

She was a strong leader who worked for The National Alliance for Insurance Education in Austin. She married the love of her life, Cristobal Zavala, Jr. on August 30, 2014.

Michelle passed away on July 26, 2017, one week after giving birth to her beautiful daughter, Clara Marie. She was so excited to be a mother and overcame every obstacle in her path to bring her daughter into the world. She and her husband Cristobal were set to embark on life’s greatest journey of starting a family and building years of wonderful memories.

Michelle was a beautiful soul, a devoted wife and beloved daughter, and a loving mother. She was taken from us far too soon, and the world is a lesser place for it.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Chris and daughter, Clara Marie of Pflugerville; parents, Paul and Marsha Hodnett of Weatherford; sister and brother-in-law, Christy and Galen Thorp; nieces Elise and Camille Thorp, all of Hanford, California; parents-in-law, Cristobal Sr. and Enedina Zavala of Harlingen; brother-in-law, Eddie Zavala of Austin; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family and friends and colleagues who loved her immensely.

Family and friends are invited to a visitation to be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, August 4, 2017 at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home in Pflugerville. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 5, 2017 in the funeral home chapel. She will be laid to rest at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Cemetery in Pflugerville.
