Nettie Pearl (Geneva) Marcus, born March 30, 1933, in Tuskahoma, Pushmataha County, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 30, 2025, due to complications from a stroke. Nettie was a homemaker and a working office professional who spent most of her career working for the State of Texas Highway Department. She loved her family and was a devoted Mother, Wife, and caregiver, always willing to help someone in need. Nettie was also a resilient woman who led a life of integrity, hard work, and dedication to her Christian faith.
Nettie was preceded in death by her husband, Carroll Lee Marcus of Austin Texas; father, Dennis Albert Geneva and mother, Ruby Victoria Geneva of McAlester, Oklahoma; sister, Alice Lorraine Hammond of Jacksboro Texas; brother, John Dee Geneva of Mabank Texas; Sister, Patsy Nell Weaver of McAlester Oklahoma; Brother, Dwight Dennis Geneva of McAlester Oklahoma.
Nettie is survived by son, Carroll Lee Marcus, Jr. and daughter-in-law Terry Ann Marcus of Georgetown, Texas; daughter, Terry Lynne Marcus of Cedar Park, Texas; son, Timothy Alan Marcus and daughter-in-law Linda Marcus of Marble Falls, Texas; son, Bruce Avery Marcus of Cedar Park, Texas; stepdaughter, Carolyn Roberts Gross and stepson-in-law, Lonny Gross of Norman, Oklahoma; sister Quanah Joan Schlesselman and husband Steve Schlesselman of Edmond, Oklahoma; brother Conny Lee Geneva and wife Lois Geneva of McAlester, Oklahoma; sister Shirley Ann Burgess of Springtown, Texas; five grandchildren; three step-grandchildren, one great grandchild.
Visitation guests will be received from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., Sunday, February 9, 2025, at Cook-Walden Funeral Home. There will be a service to celebrate Nettie’s life, 10:00 AM on Monday, February 10, 2025, in the Redeemer Lutheran Church, 1500 W Anderson Ln., Austin, Texas. An interment and reception will immediately follow at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home and Cemeteries, 14501 North Ih-35, Pflugerville, TX 78660.
