Thành passed peacefully from this life the afternoon of May 5, 2014 after a gradual decline in health. He was surrounded and supported by his loving family during the last days of his life. Thành was born in Bac Lieu, Viet Nam but has been in the United States since 1980. In 2007, after raising their four children, Thành, and his wife Diep, retired in Austin, TX where he lived the remainder of his life.
Thành is survived by four children (and spouses): Trang (Cuong) Tran, Thao (Dao), Hai (Quy) and Kim Ngan (Christopher) Franklin; seventeen grandchildren: Phi, Thanh, Khoa, Thu, Quang, and Thi Tran, Jessica, Jacqueline, Josheline, Joseph and Jamie Nguyen, Don, Dan & Diana Nguyen, Alexander, Elizabeth and Rachel Franklin. Thành is also survived by his sisters Rang, Cuc, Tho, Nho and The.
He was predeceased by his parents, Qui and Nhiem Nguyen; brothers Tran, Chuong and Phu.
