Norman Davis

Norman was full of life and was always “ready to party.” His love of people showed in the vast array of friends he carried throughout his life. He was the kind of person that “never met a stranger.” His love of cooking, always spurned unusual dishes that everyone needed to try. As an avid bridge player, he would never pass up a chance for a game. He was a passionate golfer and hunter, until age and physical restrictions prohibited him from continuing those hobbies, but he never missed watching a golf tourney on TV. Though not famous, his art talent, which he had been blessed with early on, became his major focus of attention. Painting, drawing and creative works of art for friends, relatives and anyone that appreciated them, were sparks that kept him going daily. His works adorn the homes of many.

Norman was born May 11, 1921 in Larned, Kansas to his parents Hobart and Della Davis. He was preceded in death by his sister, Marilyn Sporn and his wife of 57 years, Josephine Davis. He is survived by his wife Francis Davis and Son Mike Davis and wife Cynthia, Grandchildren, Doug Davis and wife Pam of Round Rock, TX and Patricia Hamilton and husband Mike of Cedar Park, TX. Also, Great Grandchildren Amanda, Ashlyn, Alyson and Morgan. Norman is also survived by Frances’s extended family Jim Kaufman and wife Teresa of Oklahoma City, OK Nancy and husband Bob Redden of Dallas, TX and Cheryl and husband Jeff Zanek of Austin, TX. Norman is also survived by an older sister, Joyce Wilson of Houston, TX .

Norman’s positive attitude, love of life and big smile left an indelible mark on everyone he met. He will be missed by all who knew him and many who never had the chance.

Visitation will be from 4 – 6 pm Sunday, July 17, 2011 at Cook Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home in Pflugerville.

Funeral services will be held 10am Monday, July 18, 2011 in the Memorial Chapel of Cook Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home. Burial to follow at Cook Walden/Capital Parks Cemetery.
