Paula Banda-Ybarra

Paula is survived by her husband of 33 years, Baldomero Ybarra Jr, her daughter Paula Nicole Gonzalez, her husband David, her sons Albert Ybarra, his wife Sofia, and Drew Ybarra, and her 3 grandchildren, Gabriel, Angelica, and Nadia Gonzalez and her adopted daughter Andrea Marquez of Florida. She is also survived by many brothers and sisters; Cruz Banda Jr., Joe Banda, Alberto Banda, Martin Banda, Monico Banda, Jesse Banda, Maria Garza, Petra Sanchez, Manuela Guerrero, Refugia Flores, Adelaida Zuniga, Janie Cancino, and Gregoria Banda. She is also survived by numerous brothers-in- law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents Cruz and Maria Banda, her brother Macario S. Banda, and her sister Guadalupe Arroyo.

Paula, or mom as we knew her, touched so many lives. She was not only our mother, but she was also considered to others as their second mother. She always carried with her a huge smile and a distinct laugh. Mom never lost her faith and always attended church unless she had to work. She loved making everyone laugh and enjoyed spending time with her family. She was the inspiration and the backbone to our family. She was a loving wife, mom and grandmother. Out of the kindness of her heart, she took on an extremely difficult task of raising a young child well after her own two children had already moved on with their own families. Mom will be greatly missed by the many people’s lives she touched.

Family and friends are invited to a visitation on Wednesday, June 20, 2012 from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., with a rosary service at 7:00 p.m., at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home in Pflugerville. A Funeral Mass will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, June 21, 2012 at St. Albert the Great Catholic Church, 12041 Bittern Hollow, Austin. Interment will follow at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Cemetery in Pflugerville.
