Peggy Carol Dreher

Peggy Carol (Harper) Dreher, age 76 of Round Rock, Texas was born in Denton, Texas on April 28, 1948. She was taken away from us suddenly in a car accident on May 15, 2024 in Round Rock. She grew up in Commerce and Greenville, Texas. Peggy was preceded in death by her mother Martha Carolyn (Peters) Harper, father Charles Franklin Harper and sister Catherine Brenda Harper.

Peggy graduated from Greenville High School in 1966. She was Lt. Colonel of the Flashes drill team, FFA Sweetheart, voted Most Likely to Succeed and was awarded numerous academic honors. She then attended the University of North Texas in Denton.

She moved to Austin where she met her husband, the love of her life William “Bill” Dreher. They were married on September 15, 1973 in Austin. Peggy and Bill resided the rest of their lives in Round Rock where they raised their children. Peggy was employed by National Western Life Insurance Company for twenty years earning a degree in insurance with a certification of FLMI. Peggy and her husband are also owners of their business, Art Hall Awards in Austin.

Peggy participated in bowling leagues for many years. She was an avid card player and enjoyed canasta with her women’s group. She loved crosswords and worked them everyday to keep her mind sharp. Jigsaw puzzles were a favorite hobby and she loved playing her piano. Peggy liked being a part of Round Rock New Neighbors and Girlfriends. Two of her closest friends were Patty and Heather whom she took great joy in getting together and having dinner and wine.

Peggy is survived by her husband of 50 years Bill Dreher, son David Dreher, daughter Lauren Walsh, and grandchildren Kharis Walsh, Kellan Walsh and Meric Dreher. Also her niece Tracy (Mathew) Shores and son Warner Shores.

The family will host a celebration of Peggy’s life 2:00 pm Sunday, June 9, 2024 at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home, 14501 North Interstate 35, Pflugerville, Texas 78660.
