Rudy was born August. 19, 1944 and married Janie Munoz on Dec. 27, 1965. Rudy and Janie were blessed with three sons; Gabriel (Wanda), Reuben (Merisa, ex-wife Sheree) and Ronald (Stephanie) and nine grandchildren: Anthony, Jordin, Devin, Kristy, Cree, Sonia, Grant, Isabella, Mekayla and Hayden.
He had a passion for baseball; he coached and played baseball and softball for almost 40 years. His knowledge and love of the game helped to make many dreams come true, to play high school, college and even professional baseball.
He was a great coach and an even better man and father.
Visitation will be held on Friday, January 16, 2015 from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., with a rosary service at 7:00 p.m. at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home in Pflugerville. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 17, 2015 at St. Mary’s Cathedral, 203 East 10th Street in Austin. Interment will follow at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Cemetery.
