As a young bull, Ray grew up in Manor, TX. Learning the way of being a hard-working, Christian man. In his youth, Ray attended Manor Church of Christ, where he was baptized and served as a faithful member. With his love for the outdoors, you could always find him working with the cows, fixing things around the farm, or getting into some childhood mischief. Did you know he hatched baby chicks, using a light? His curious way often led him off the beaten path to explore the world around him. Ray was known for his "I can fix this" attitude, and that personality trait followed him into adulthood. Ray spent a lot of his pastime soaking up farm and life knowledge from his grandparents.
A lover of all things on wheels, but he had a special love for motorcycles, and "big rigs" as he loved to call them.
"Buffy" or "Lil' Ray", as his family affectionately called him, truly took life by the horns.
Ray attended and graduated from Manor Independent School District, where he played football and developed his love for welding. While playing football, he affectionately donned the name "Big Bacon." Wearing number 67 was the highlight of his week under those Friday night lights. Rays love for football continued into adulthood while playing for the Austin GameBreakers, as well as the Terminators.
Friends from school describe Ray as a "gentle giant," and he lived up to his name.
As a young adult, Ray attended vocational college for HVAC. Later in his career, he attended Commercial Truck Driving School, where he earned his CDL. He was the Jack-of-All-Trades and master of many, especially the BBQ pit. He could cook a mean brisket.
Ray was blessed with his bride, Willette, on August 12, 2011. From their union, Ray loved and raised his daughters Nilé (Baby Bird) and Lejla (Baby Girl/Stink), and his baby boy, Ryden (Tonka Truck). Ray would tell anyone who would listen to him about his babies and his loving wife (Babe). He took great pride in and admired his family.
Ray spent much of his career as a professional Commercial Truck Driver, with jobs that allowed him to travel as far as Florida and California. At the time of his departure, Ray was working for Wilsonart Engineered Surfaces. His talent and drive helped him achieve many career goals.
Ray spent his free time "on twos" as he would say. He's always loved a good speed bike, and as he got older, his love for cruisers was even stronger. Ray was a part of multiple bike organizations, where he often gave back to the community through club community events. He will always be remembered and revered as their beloved
"Hulk."
