Raymond T. Segura

Raymond T. Segura, age 80, of Austin, Texas, was called to be with his bride and our Heavenly Father on March 31, 2022. He was born on a farm in Kyle, Texas on December 19, 1941, and graduated from Austin High School. He was married to the love of his life, Elvia C. Segura, on August 17, 1968 and worked at the Austin State School for the State of Texas until his retirement. He will be forever loved and honored.

He proudly served in the U.S. Army as a SP4 Class with the 1st Infantry Division, Company C, 2nd Battalion, 28th Infantry, stationed at Fort Riley, Kansas and valiantly fought for our country in the Vietnam War from December 3, 1963, to December 5, 1965. He was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army on November 30, 1969, for his honest and faithful service.

He was preceded in death by his amazing wife of 39 years, Elvia C. Segura, on December 7, 2007, and is survived by his three children, Gloria Benavides, Raymond Segura, Jr., Neil Segura, and six grandchildren: Sarah Chapa, Deborah Benavides, Hannah Benavides, Efren Benavides, Abigail Segura, and Tristan Segura.

He was also preceded in death by his father; Guadalupe Segura, mother; Mary T. Segura, three brothers: Manuel Segura, Lupe (Lupio) Segura, and Andy Segura and is survived by three sisters; Sandy Villanueva, Terry Gonzales, and Alice Flores and two brothers; Rueben Segura, Bill Segura, and many nieces and nephews.

A strong and loyal man, dedicated to his family, and a fountain of profound wisdom will be immensely missed. He was the rock of his family and a symbol of integrity for all those around him, will live on through the legacy he created. The family expresses their deepest appreciation for the outpouring of love, support, and kindness from everyone whose life he touched in his lifetime.

A visitation for Raymond will be held Thursday, April 7, 2022 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home, 14501 North Interstate 35, Pflugerville, Texas 78660. A funeral service will occur Friday, April 8, 2022 at 10:00 a.m., 14501 North Interstate 35, Pflugerville, Texas 78660. A committal will occur Friday, April 8, 2022 at Cook-Walden/Memorial Hill Cemetery, 13700 North Interstate 35, Pflugerville, Texas 78660.
