Raymond Wendland

He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. He married the love of his life Betty Kieschnick Wendland on June 14, 1959 and they were blessed to have recently celebrated 60 years of marriage. He is survived by his wife and 4 children: Billy Wendland and wife Reneé, of Fort Worth, Cathy Miles and husband Hersh, of Pflugerville, David Wendland of Manor, and Peggy Rothenberger and husband Jeff, of Manor, and 9 loving grandchildren: Ryan Wendland, Spencer Miles and wife Jordan, Tyler Miles, Vincent Rothenberger and girlfriend Sarah Caudle, Harrison Wendland, Zoe Rothenberger and partner Brit’ne Sissom, Nick Wendland, Rachel Wendland, and Meredith Wendland. He is also survived by brother-in-law, Glen Kieschnick and wife Kim, and sisters-in-law, Donna Kieschnick, Margie Wendland, and Darlene Wendland, along with many nieces and nephews. Raymond was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers, Daniel Wendland and Clarence Wendland, and brother-in-law, Buddy Kieschnick.

Raymond owned his own construction company for many years. He loved his family, UT football and barbecuing. He also enjoyed raising animals. Raymond knew many people and never met a stranger. We will all miss his wonderful sense of humor. He loved his Lord and was a long-time member of Redeemer Lutheran Church.

Viewing will be held at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home, 14501 North Interstate 35, Pflugerville, Texas 78660, on Thursday, October 24th from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. for friends of the family.

Funeral services will be held at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 1500 West Anderson Lane, Austin, Texas 78757 at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, October 25th. Luncheon will be provided following the service in the reception room of Redeemer Lutheran Church.
