
Rene Eduard Ruan, son of the late Gladys Bell was born on October 18th, 1939 in Sherman, Texas. At an early age, his grandmother, Mattie Bell, facilitated in raising him under the Catholic Church and instilled dedication to his faith. In his faithfulness, he was a follower of Christ, believed in loving all God’s children and forgiving often.
At the age of 86, Rene went to be with the Lord on Mar 14, 2026 in Leander, Texas. He is preceded in death by grandmother Mattie Bell, mother Gladys Bell and son-in-law David Ledesma.
Rene is survived by an honorary son, Bobby W. Corn Jr. (Jenny); children, Rene Kiefer, Mario Kiefer, Brigette Ledesma; grandchildren, Nicholas Vasquez (Chasity), Bryan Corn (Nina), Gabriel Vasquez (Emily), Zoe Corn (Ian Tyevs), Daniel Vasquez, Eric Corn; and three great grandchildren, Riley, Ximena and Paisley.
Rene proudly served in the United States Army as an E4 Specialist for seven years, from 1957 to 1964. During his enlistment, he served as Military Intelligence and Military Police. Driven by a personal goal, Rene later obtained an Associate Degree from Austin Community College in 1996. Throughout his career, he held various positions, but he especially took pride in his work as a Lab Assistant at the University of Texas College of Pharmacy.
Rene was a truly compassionate, kind, and caring person who treated everyone like family. He had a gift for making people feel like his favorite. A passionate world traveler, Rene was fluent in many languages and loved sharing his deep knowledge of different cultures with everyone he met. He cherished time spent with family and friends, passing on treasured traditions and sharing his life experiences and stories with great humor. Rene's life is marked by acts of love and service. The many lives he touched will remember him for his legacy of love that will live in our hearts forever.
A visitation will be held at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home, 14501 North Ih-35, Pflugerville, TX 78660, US, on March 22, 2026, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
A funeral service will be held at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home, 14501 North Ih-35, Pflugerville, TX 78660, US, on March 23, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am. Committal Service to follow.
