Rogelio Hernandez Avila died on September 24, 2013, at his home, in Austin, Texas. Rogelio was born in Cd. Manuel Doblado, Guanajuato, Mexico, on April 18, 1938. He and his family moved to Anahuac, Tamaulipas, Mexico. He moved to Round Rock, Texas, in 1973.
Rogelio worked for Round Rock ISD for 29 years and had retired in 2006. Rogelio was a family man and enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Carmen Hernandez, his seven Children, Maria H.-Gutierrez, Elvira Palacios, Jorge Hernandez, Fernando Hernandez, Mercedes Hernandez, Lily Hall, Mirta De Leon, twenty-two grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by all of his family and friends.
A Visitation will take place on Thursday, September 26, 2013 from 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm, and the Rosary recited at 7:00 pm at Cook Walden Funeral Home in Pflugerville, Texas. The Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, September 27 at 10:00 am at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Pflugerville. Interment will be at Cook-Walden Memorial Hill Cemetery in Pflugerville.
