

Roger was born in Corpus Christi, Nueces County, Texas, to William Walter Dyer and Florence Estelle Gilcrease. His formative childhood years were spent in Bertram, TX. He is preceded in death by an infant brother, Roger Walter, and sister, Wanda.
Roger is survived by his wife of 32 years, Bonnie Bren Dyer, Bren’s daughters Laurie Tieman (and husband John) of New Braunfels, TX; Lisa Jennings of Houston, TX, as well as step grandchildren Phillip Tieman and Alyssa Tieman; Clark Limbaugh, Mason Limbaugh, and Dane Limbaugh.
Roger’s hobbies included automobile racing, boating, hunting, and flying his airplane. He also enjoyed reading Western paperback novels, which inspired his love of high quality cowboy boots. Roger and Bren enjoyed the occasional trip, including jaunts to Alaska, Hawaii, Europe, and Jerusalem. Together they had many pet cats and dogs, with two notable favorites being Lacey the dalmatian and Rajah the blue healer.
Roger was a long-time member of Hyde Park Baptist Church in Austin, Texas. He owned Dyer Automotive & Transmission also in Austin, TX, as well as Roger Dyer Top Fuel Enterprises, Inc. Roger also served in the Marine Corps from 1957 to 1961.
A graveside service for Roger will be held at Cook Walden Capital Parks Cemetery on Friday, January 30th at 1 PM.
