Rosemary Sternnadle Hickman was born June 11, 1937 and died February 22, 2025. Rosemary was born in Austin, TX to her parents John and Theresa Sternnadle. She was the fifth of nine children. She had 4 brothers John, James Joseph, Roddy, and George (died at birth) and 4 sisters Alice, Elizabeth, Dorothy, and Lena. Rosemary was the beloved wife and best friend to her husband Marvin Hickman, precious mother to Ethel Turney, cherished grandmother to April Miller, and much loved great-grandmother to Matthew Miller. Rosemary will be remembered for her strength, tenacity, compassion and caring nature.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father Theresa Ann (Patzelt) and John Joseph Sternnadle, her brothers John Sternnadle, James Joseph “Jimmie” Sternnadle, Roddy Sternnadle, George Sternnadle,and her sisters Alice Sternnadle (Linscomb), Elizabeth Sternnadle (Lafosse). Dorothy Ann Sternnadle (Savant), and Lena Sternnadle (Darling). She was also preceded in death by her loving husband Marvin Hickman who was the love of her life.
Rosemary is survived in death by her daughter Ethel Turney (Joel Turney) of Bastrop, granddaughter April Miller (Terry Evans) of Manor, and great-grandson Matthew Miller (Stormi Holloway) of Austin. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, two of which she always kept in contact with Stacy Bevers (Eric Bevers) of Austin, and Debbie May of Louisiana, and her favorite Cousin Cecilia Crossley.
A visitation for Rosemary will be held Friday, March 7, 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home, 14501 North Ih-35, Pflugerville, TX 78660. A funeral service will occur Saturday, March 8, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, 14501 North Ih-35, Pflugerville, TX 78660. A committal service will occur Saturday, March 8, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home & Cemetery, 14501 N Interstate Hwy 35, Pflugerville, TX 78660.
