

He was born to Harry Webster Weaver and Ilo Elizabeth (Headlee) Weaver at home on December 18, 1925 in West Union, West Virginia. Jean came to Austin following his service in World War II. He served in the US Army in the European Theater of operations during the Battle of the Bulge and in the Army of Occupation in Germany. Jean graduated from the University of Texas at Austin and immediately began working for Texaco Chemical Research Laboratory, where he worked for 37 years before retiring in 1989. He also joined the Texas National Guard, serving until his military retirement in 1967. Jean enjoyed working a small herd of cattle near Liberty Hill, Texas, growing pecans, and traveling with his family.
Jean is preceded in death by his parents and his brother Donald. Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife, Tommie; children, Stephen and wife Yvonne, Rhonda and husband Bobby Bowers, and Gary Weaver; grandchildren, Zackary Weaver, Chelsy Weaver, and Jordan Bowers and wife Sara; and his brothers Richard and Rodney Weaver.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 8, 2011 at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Cemetery in Pflugerville.
Honorary pallbearers will be Steve Weaver, Gary Weaver, Bobby Bowers, Zackary Weaver, and Jordan Bowers.
