“I am a proud child of God. Nothing I’ve ever done in my life comes close to being as important or rewarding as giving my life to Christ as a young girl, spending quality time with family, including my sons, daughters and grandchildren.”
Sadie Beatrice Goodman was born on July, 25, 1941 in Lockhart, Texas to Marlin and Matilda Houston. Sadie transitioned to be with the Lord on Wednesday, February 5, 2020 in Pflugerville, Texas.
Sadie worked for many years as a paraprofessional of Denver Public Schools in Denver, Colorado. She was humbly grateful and excited about serving in the school system; education was something that she held very close to her kind and caring heart.
Sadie lived life to the absolute fullest. She thoroughly enjoyed dancing, shopping at flea markets or thrift stores, watching soap operas, attending any kind of family gathering, volunteering at churches and food banks to serve her community, and playing BINGO. She was most proud of motherhood; graduations, weddings, little league and high school sporting events, and anything involving her family; her kids' accomplishments brought her a sense of joy and pride. But above all, Sadie loved to witness the happiness and success of her children, grandchildren, and siblings; she was an extremely loyal, dedicated, loving and caring mother and grandmother who put family above everything else.
Sadie is preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Marcela and Naomi and her brother Aaron.
Memories of Sadie will be cherished by her children, daughter Sharon Posey; son Vincent Rush; daughter Jackie Rush; son Arlandis Rush; seven grandchildren, Kisha Forbes (Michael), Natasha Posey, Sean Posey, Tyrell Blackmon, Cheylin Rush, Chris Rogers, Tyrin Rush, seven great grandchildren; sisters, Elamme Ellison, Ester Abram, Della Jefferson (Jeff), Mary Williams and brothers Walter Houston and Robert Houston as well as many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be rendered on Tuesday, February 11, 2020 at 12:30 p.m. at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home, 14501 North Interstate Highway 35, Pflugerville, Texas with a visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. The committal service will immediately follow.
