Salvador was born in San Luis Potosi, Mexico on November 9, 1953. He lived a humble life with his family helping around the house with up keeping of the chickens, goats, pigs, and other farm animals and vegetations. As a child, he enjoyed playing basketball, taking a swim in the river doing backflips and cliff jumping. Salvador Hernandez graduated and briefly perused a math teaching career in his hometown; to this day his students still remember him, his teachings, and his advice and hold him in high regard. He was also very successful in his next career managing a chain of shoe stores. In the 1970s, he moved to California to start the next chapter of his life.
He was married to Margarita Hernandez on November 11, 1975 and they shared 42 wonderful years; working hard besides one another to build a foundation for their loving family. He enjoyed his wife’s cooking and she adored making him his favorite dishes, which included gorditas, tamales, burritos, chili con queso you name it. Salvador Hernandez worked in the service industry for Cintas Corporation for 20 years. He was a member of St. Albert the Great Catholic Church and had a passion for gardening, home projects, organizing his tools, watching soccer and appreciated having meals with his family.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Mingo Hernandez, father, Eusebio Hernandez and mother, Germana Rosales-Hernandez.
He was survived by his wife, Margarita Hernandez; children, Corina Cruz, Rolando Hernandez, Salvador Hernandez Jr. and Jeanette Hernandez; grandchildren, Joseph Cruz, Nadine Cruz, Benjamin Hernandez, Savannah Hernandez, John Hernandez, Austin Hernandez, Mariah Hernandez, Jayden Hernandez, Isabel Hernandez, Emily Hernandez, Pryce Hernandez and Elyana Arreaga; and siblings, Avelino Hernández, Andrés Hernández, Reynaldo Hernández and Reyna Hernández.
