Shaina Rae Randel born August 17, 1995 to Shani Renee Ali and Elton Ray Randel Jr. Shaina was born at Seton Medical Center in Austin, Tx. She had permanent residency in Round Rock, Tx and had recently moved Scottsdale Arizona where she passed away on July 16, 2022. Shaina was a month shy of her 27th birthday at her time of death.
Shaina started her education early at the age of 18 months attending Ebenezar Child Development Center (Ebenezar Baptist Church, Austin Tx.) and later Abundant Life Learning Center (Greater Calvary Baptist Church, Austin Tx.) under the tutelage of Sis. Willams and Bro. Christopher Lands. She excelled at an early age in her studies. She was promoted to kindergarten at the age 3 yrs. Shaina continued to St. Francis School (Austin, Tx) and began 1st grade at 4 years old. We were concerned that maybe the pace would be too fast for her at this early age but she surprised all of us and was one of the top students in her class. After that we never doubted her ability or her smarts! She continued her primary education at Pease Elementary School (Austin, TX). She also attended O’Henry Middle School (Austin, Tx) where she became active in the band and developed a love for the drums, other percussion instruments and the guitar. Shaina continued her band career into high school where she had the honor of playing with “The One, The Only” LBJ Marching Band. Shaina graduated high school in at the age of 16 in 2012 from The University of Texas Charter School System Meridell Campus. Due to her age Shaina wasn’t ready to move too far away for college so she completed her first 2 years at Austin Community College while living at home with her mother and brother. In 2014 she transferred to Texas Woman’s University in Denton, Tx where she graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Business Administration with a major in Marketing and Management and a minor in Business Administration.
Shaina enjoyed working and had a strong work ethic that was passed down from her mother and grandmother. While in college Shaina worked for Target and held positions at Texas Woman’s University as a teaching assistant and a housing administration assistant. After graduation Shaina began working for Fed Ex. She worked as a mail handler and DOT courier. Shaina’s dream profession was to work for a major airline in any capacity that allowed her to work on the tarmac.
Shaina had a love for tennis shoes that started in elementary school. Shaina could care less about where her clothes came from or their brand. Her focus was her shoe game. Her favorite shoe was the Jordan 1. Shaina’s collection of Nike/Jordan shoes was extensive. In addition to being a sneaker head Shaina loved to travel. One of her favorite destinations was Las Vegas. Shaina always wanted to travel internationally but had not gotten an opportunity prior to her death.
Shaina will be missed but she is at peace and safe in God’s arms. A mother could not want for anything more than that for her child.
Shaina is preceded in death by her grandfather, Frederick J. Ali; great-grandparent's Mildred and Clarence Sauls & Mary and Rex Ali; great-uncle Kenneth E. Jones and great-aunt Gail A. Willis. Shaina is survived by her mother Shani R. Ali; father Elton R. Randel Jr.; grandmother Jacquelyn F. Stewart; grandparents Linda Obenga and Elton R. Randel Sr; brothers Laurence D. Stoglin II and Elliott D. Stoglin; sister Sha’Rae L. Randel. Shaina is also survived by uncles, aunts and cousins.
