

Stefan William Wilkens, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away in Austin, Texas on November 6th, 2020, at the age of 85 after a brief illness. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 53 years, Sara (nee Todd).
Stefan was born on November 30, 1934 in San Antonio. He graduated from Alamo Heights High School, served in the United States Navy on the USS Wasp in the 1950s before marrying Sara on August 14, 1967. He worked for nearly 20 years at CPL Energy in Corpus Christi. His “second wind” was spent as a technology consultant for the Corpus Christi School District until his retirement in 1998, when he and Sara moved to San Antonio. Stefan enjoyed golfing, traveling, reading, and spending time with his grandchildren, and nurtured lifelong interests in science, nature, photography, and engineering.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Miriam (nee Vordenbaum) Wilkens and his brother Dan Wilkens. He is survived by his wife Sara; his sister Claire (Ernie) Sena; daughter Heather Read (James Chrobak) and granddaughter Laura Chrobak; and son Todd (Christy) and grandchildren Theda, Stefan, Miriam, Benedict, Ambrose, and Oscar.
Flowers may be sent to Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home, 14501 North Interstate 35, Pflugerville, Texas, on November 12, 2020. Donations in his honor may be made to the National MS Society.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 5:45 p.m., Thursday, November 12, 2020 at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home, 14501 North Interstate 35 Pflugerville, Texas 78660. A rosary service will immediately follow the visitation starting at 5:45 p.m. with the Funeral Service to begin at 6:30 p.m. in Memorial Chapel of Cook-Walden/Capital Parks.
