

The angels came to take Stephen Duncan-Smith, age 69, born September 3, 1956, on Tuesday 27th January peacefully surrounded by love. He was a devoted husband, loving father, proud gramps , and a steady presence to all who knew him.
Stephen began his professional career with (Slim) ICI in Northwich, England, where his strong work ethic and dedication were evident early on. He later continued his career with Abbott Laboratories in Austin, Texas, (Limey) where he worked faithfully until his medical retirement. Throughout his working life, he was respected for his integrity, reliability, and commitment.
Stephen leaves behind his loving wife of 46 1/2 years, Billie Duncan-Smith. They had known one another for over 50 years and were married in Northwich, England, sharing a life built on love, loyalty, and deep companionship.
Together, they were blessed with three children. He is survived by his daughters, Natalie Joy and Noelle Ellen, and by his beloved granddaughter, Aleaha, and grandson, Darrius, who brought him great joy. He was preceded in death by his cherished son, Darris Alan, who passed as a premature infant and was forever held close in Stephen’s heart.
Stephen is also survived by his older brother, Gary (wife Marian), his younger sister, Lorraine, his sister-in-laws, Liz Smith, Kalletta (Bryan) Pemberton, plus his service dog Mason and his many nieces and nephews, all of whom he loved dearly.
Known for his kind heart, quiet strength, and gentle spirit, Stephen lived his life with humility, compassion, and unwavering devotion to his family. In a final act of generosity, Stephen’s wished that his brain be donated to CADASIL research, offering hope and understanding to others.
Stephen’s legacy lives on through the love he shared, the lives he touched, and the memories that will be cherished forever. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
