Texie was born on July 8, 1939, to James's "Shorty" and Leona Beaver of Fort Stockton, Texas. After finishing school, Texie moved to Austin to attend Nixon-Clay business college where she met Richard. After a short engagement they were married January 30, 1957, in Taylor, Texas. They settled in Austin working and raising their family. After years in the work force and following retirement, Texie and Richard enjoyed fishing, craft shows, and family. Richard would fire up the BBQ pit or fish fryer, and Texie would call the kids to come over for dinner. Nothing made Texie happier than having her family all together.
In 1996, Texie and Richard gave up the hustle and bustle of city life and moved to Cedar Creek. She found her place in the country with the wildlife and it wasn’t long before she started raising goats. As Cedar Creek began to grow, Texie looked forward to starting a new adventure with Richard, farming and ranching. Texie needed more room for her goats (which she named each and every one of them). Texie was not afraid of hard work and was by Richard’s side clearing the land, burning brush, and building fences. Texie had a full and happy life with her family by her side.
Texie is preceded in death by her father James “Shorty” Beaver and her mother Leona Mabry Beaver, her brother and his wife Elbert and Lenora Schmidt, her nephew Matthew Schmidt, and her beloved husband of 64 years Richard William Teltow.
Texie is survived by her children Kim Worthey and husband David, David Teltow and his wife Danie, granddaughters Michelle Blackburn and her husband Patrick, Kailey Teltow, and Texie Teltow, and two great-grandchildren Kimberlin and Kayden Blackburn. She is also survived by her brother in-law Bill Teltow Jr and his wife Betty and many nieces and nephews.
